Serie B - Week 1

The game of the opening weekend in Serie B was at San Nicola as Bari finally got the better of a spirited Spezia performance to come out 4-3 victors.  Two goals apiece for De Luca and Maniero for Bari won the game after Spezia went into a 3-2 lead early in the second half with goals from De Las Cuevas, Catellani and Nene.

Salernitana marked their return to Serie B with a 3-1 victory at home to Avellino.  Goals from Denilson (2) and Troianello were enough for the points.  Trotta equalised for Avellino in the first half but that was as good as it good for the visitors.

Last night saw Cagliari thrash visitors Crotone by four goals to nil. It was a perfect start for one of the promotion favourites and saw goals from Diego Farias, Deiola, Sau and Giannetti.
